21st Century Learning Centers

The Learning Centers are designed to provide expanded academic enrichment opportunities.  Some of the services offered include: tutors, drug and violence prevention programs, character education, and recreational programs.

Collegiate Tobacco Prevention Initiative

The aims of this program are to increase awareness of the hazards of tobacco use and secondhand smoke and promote smoking cessation among college students.

Creating Lasting Family Connections

Creating Lasting Family Connections is a family strengthening, substance abuse, and violence prevention curriculum.

Eckerd Drug Quiz Show

The Eckerds Drug Quiz Show is a competition that provides heightened school/home/community substance abuse awareness to middle school students.

 Get Real About Violence

Get Real About Violence is a K-12 program that addresses a wide range of violent behavior in studentsfrom bullying and verbal aggression to relationship abuse and assaults.

Gouverneur Activity and Learning Center

The Center, located in Gouverneur, offers a drop-in center complete with a lending library, an educational area, and a reading corner.  Educational activities and programming are also available.
Linkages for Prevention

The Linkages for Prevention program is a network of providers and programs, working in conjunction, to engage youth and key community resources to help reduce adolescent pregnancy.

Project SUCCESS/Student Assistance Program

Project SUCCESS (Schools Using Coordinated Community Efforts to Strengthen Students) prevents and reduces substance use among high-risk, multi-problem youth.

Tobacco Free Schools Initiative

Tobacco Free Schools Support Program is a program that works with all St. Lawrence County School Districts on their tobacco policies.  The Coordinator of this program will review current tobacco policies, draft new policies if needed, have new ones approved, and conducts ongoing advocacy and evaluation.

Youth Empowerment

Youth Empowerment/Reality Check is New Yorks answer to combating the manipulating advertisements used by the tobacco industry to addict teens.

The Denis M. Doyle Resource Center

 The Denis M. Doyle Resource Center is a lending library that offers information on a variety of topics.  All materials may be borrowed, free of charge.

Community-Based Programming
