Outpatient Services Two outpatient clinics conveniently located in Watertown and Carthage are available to anyone, any age, who is experiencing a substance abuse problem. Treatment is confidential. Flexible day and evening hours accommodate individual schedules.
The outpatient programs includes:
- initial evaluations
- education on the disease and recovery from addiction
- individual and group counseling - a safe, supportive environment in which to explore recovery issues
- specific programs developed to meet the special needs of adolescents and women services to families, including: counseling, education, referral, and intervention
- participation self help support groups is encouraged
- stress reduction therapy, including detox acupuncture

Residential Services
The Men's Intensive Residential Program The Credo Community Center's Long Term Residential program in located 10 miles north of Watertown, in Pamelia, NY. It is set on a beautiful 115 acre working farm, and serves men, ages 16 to mid-20's. The farm offers a total rehabilitative environment. Residents participate in work activities on the farm and a variety of other activities on and off site. The holistic atmosphere is tailor-made to engage the residents in personal growth and challenge, building self-respect and responsibility for their recoveries.
The program consists of:
- variable length of stay from 8-12 months
- individual and group counseling
- family counseling
- vocational education
- daily living skill training
- recreation and healthy leisure skills
- educational programming
- addictions education
- relapse prevention training
Aftercare and reentry services are available in preparation for discharge. Entrance into an Aftercare or Community Residence in Watertown is available upon graduation from the Credo residential program on a space available basis.

The Women's Intensive Residential Program The Women's long term residential program, located in Watertown convenient to a wide array of services is designed to help women, ages 16 and up, address the impact that addiction has had on their lives, as well as their needs as women. The program addresses nonproductive patterns that have lead to damaging and/or life threatening abuse and dependence on drugs and alcohol. Often addiction is multi-generational and women feel caught in the cycle. This program assists women in examining their own power and resources, as well as recognizing and accessing their own individual life options.

- Healthy relationships
- Personal safety
- Self Help
- Assertiveness
- Family issues
- Physical and nutritional health
As the women progress in treatment they move form a more restrictive environment to more independence on an individualized basis in preparation for discharge. They are encouraged to access resources in the community and get involved in different community activities to help smooth the transition to self-confidence and self-sufficiency. The program is 6 to 12 months.

Vocational/Educational Program
Objectives Staff and clients strive toward vocational independence by providing participants with opportunities to enhance their career planning; to equip them with employability skills and job search skills so that they can more effectively participate in today's workforce.The program encourages persons to take responsibility for developing necessary skills to meet their individual needs.
Services Provided This program offers career goals assessments and planning. Clients meet individually with a counselor to discuss and work on career goals. Clients are given the opportunity to participate in job preparation activities such as applications, resumes, interview skills, etc. Upon completion of these activities clients compile and organize information into a Voc/Ed Folder, which includes copies of degrees, certificates, letters of recommendation and relevant job search information. Once complete, clients are given their Voc/Ed Folder to assist them in their job search. A copy of this information is kept on file at this agency should client need further assistance.
Opportunities exist for participation in workshops, groups, and seminars that may be held in house or in the community. Topics covered may include, but are not limited to, career development, resume writing, anger management, self-esteem enhancement and communication skills. A referral network has also been established allowing staff and clients acess to information about services offered in the community. Referrals are made as needed on an ongoing basis. Volunteer participation is also encouraged as a pre/post-vocational activity.

The Men's Half-way House This community residence program offers support and structure to individuals, 18 years of age an up, newly in recovery and in need of a structured, supportive, substance-free living environment.
The house provides a wide variety of daily living skills training, peer and staff support, and relapse prevention training. Vocational and case management services are available on and off site. Counseling is provided at the Outpatient Clinic.

The Aftercare The Aftercare is a community residence program located in a comfortable group home setting. 13 males, ages 16 and up, reside in house and receive services in the community. Support is available in this setting via 24 hour staffing and close peer interaction. Daily living skills and relapse prevention are a focus in the residence. Participation in self help support groups in the community is strongly encouraged.
Residents of the Aftercare are required to work outside of the house at least 20 hours per week but many also attend educational programming at the local community college or adult education facility. Residents contribute toward their room and board from their earnings.
The Aftercare also serves as a re-entry facility for the men's long term intensive residential program. When residents of that program near completion they often spend 1-2 nights a week at the Aftercare to help prepare them for transition to the community.

Staff Qualifications Credo employs individuals with a variety of educational backgrounds, depending on the position and job responsibilities. Many employees come to Credo with MSW's, CASAC Credentials, Masters Degrees in varying subjects, or otherwise meeting the criteria to be a QHP, but others have earned educational credit or credentials while working there. Credo provides incentives for staff to continue their educations and seeks educational opportunities both in-house and across the state. Employees are given opportunities to share their other talents and skills throughout the Credo programs and are encouraged to get involved in their communities through volunteer work, serving on boards, or other such endeavors on a regular basis.
